How is Cabanza scored?
100 points for every pair, plus a streak bonus for pairs cleared within three seconds of each other. Clear the board for a 5,000 point bonus plus 25 points for every second left.
| Scoring | Points |
|---|---|
| Each pair cleared | +100 |
| Streak bonus, a pair within 3 seconds of the last | +20 a step, up to +100 a pair |
| Clearing the board in time | +5,000 |
| Time bonus, if you clear the board | +25 per second left |
Your score cannot go below zero.
The streak bonus
Clear a pair within three seconds of your last pair and it earns a streak bonus: +20 for the first, +40 for the second, and so on, up to +100 a pair. A pair cleared more than three seconds later, or any undo, resets the streak.
Clearing beats not clearing
Tournaments rank by score alone. The clear bonus is set so that a player who clears the board always outscores a player who does not. Time left is measured to the millisecond, so faster clearers almost always outscore slower ones, and exact ties are rare.
What earns nothing
- Revealing a hidden tile
- Undos you did not use
- Tiles parked in the tray
Undoing a pair you cleared removes the points for it.
Scoring is done by our servers, which replay every tap, reveal and undo against the tournament's board. See the Cabanza section of our Fairness of Play disclosures.
